Why Unlearn & Reclaim Yoga For Colective LIberation with RD?

Rooted in Lineage

Dive into the heart of yoga’s indigenous tradition, understand the roots of the practice, and share your gifts with integrity and respect for its origins. Radical Darshan weaves authentic yoga traditions with justice-centered practice, inviting teachers to honor yoga’s roots while teaching from integrity. Your learning is not separate from the world around you; it becomes a way to move from intention to impact.

Committed to Liberation

You will learn from Black, Brown, and Global Majority women, trans, and non-binary faculty, alongside collaborators and accomplices who bring lived experience, rigour, and deep commitment to liberation work. You will learn to surf discomfort as a facilitator with grace, and clarity, so you can guide spaces that are accessible, equitable, and brave. We prioritise social justice and equity, and our Distilled course is an accessible introduction to decolonised yoga teaching grounded in the Radical DarshanTeaching Methodology

Held in Community

We build an ethical community through decolonised yoga training, where courageous dialogue, compassionate accountability, and collective care are part of the practice itself. That means learning to embrace challenges as a facilitator with deep understanding, developing language that supports agency and accessibility, and practicing accountability in ways that make more liberatory teaching possible. This is a space to unlearn harmful norms, refine your voice, and create learning environments where more people can feel seen, respected, and empowered. You will study in an ethical learning space shaped by compassionate accountability, collaborative reflection, and the wisdom of lived experience.

Meet the Co-Founders

Radical Darshan was the inspiration of Jonelle Lewis in 2020 in response to the uprising of Black Lives Matter movement. Together with Kallie Schut, one of the originating co-founders, they have strived to sustain the momentum for change in yoga in the face of resistance and challenge.

Their work integrates decolonised yoga, dharmic traditions, anti-oppression practices, and a commitment to creating spaces where equity, accountability, and liberation are not side notes but central practice.

What they offer is not simply information, but orientation: a way of teaching that asks how yoga can be practiced with integrity, how community can be tended with care, and how spiritual work can stay connected to justice in lived reality.

Not Ready for the Full Training?

Radical Darshan Distilled

Not everyone begins with the full training. Radical Darshan also offers Distilled, a mini-course that introduces the path of decolonised yoga teaching through the Darshan Teaching Methodology and is eligible for Yoga Alliance continuing education hours. Alongside 300h YTT, courses and gatherings can offer accessible ways to begin learning, reconnect with community, or deepen one strand of practice at a time.
